Cottonwood Head Football Coach Dies

The Deseret News is reporting that new Cottonwood head football coach Terry "Teko" Johnson died earlier this week while on vacation in New Jersey with his family.

Johnson, a Utah native, also held head coaching positions in New York and Pennsylvania.

With the first day of practice beginning August 16th, I wanted to take the time to thank all of my readers, who have made this blog successful over the past three years.  I have bigger-and-better things planned this year with more original content.

Here's a look at important dates for the 2010 season...

First Practice - August 9th

Regular Season Begins - August 20th & 21st (Endowment Games); August 26th (Regular Season)

Playoffs Begin - October 29th

Championships - November 13th (2A,1A); November 19th (5A, 4A, 3A)

Utah High School Football Coach Battles MS

The story of Jordan High School football coach Eric Kjar in the Deseret News was a tough read, but in the end, it warms your heart.

Reporter Amy Donaldson writes about how Kjar's team is rallying around him as he battles multiple sclerosis.

Last season was Kjar's first as the head coach of the Beetdiggers.

Jordan finished 7-5 last year.
