Juan Diego closed out a perfect season Friday with 21-18 win over Hurricane to capture Utah's 3A state championship. The Soaring Eagles won its first 3A title on a 22-yard field goal from Jaron Bentrude with just four seconds left.

2008 Utah High School Football Scoreboard - Playoffs 1st Round

Syracuse's amazing 2008 turnaround continued Friday night in the opening round of Utah 5A high school football playoffs. Syracuse beat Kearns 42-18 to advance to the quarterfinals next week. The win was the eight of the season for the Titans, who didn't win a game in 2007. Click here for a game recap.

Jordan Facing Massillon (OH) in Kirk Herbstreit Varsity Football Series

The Jordan (UT) Beetdiggers out-of-state roadshow continues in 2008 with a trip to the Kirk Herbstreit Varsity Football Series in Ohio for a game against nationally renowned Massillon on Saturday at 8 PM at Fawcett Stadium at the Football Hall of Fame in Canton.
The past two seasons, the Beetdiggers have travelled to Valdosta, Georgia for games against high school football's winningest program. Both times Jordan returned to Utah will loses, including last year's 23-21 defeat. Massillon is America's third winningest high school football program. Jordan, which lost its season opener against Northridge 41-37, has won 11 Utah state football championships.
